Christies Hospital is the largest cancer hospital in Europe, and Songs For Christies established raise money primarily for The Christy Charity. You can find out more about The Christy Charity here.
Songs For Christies is a performing roadshow which tours around major shopping centres in the North of England.
The roadshow involves singers who entertain the crowds whilst raising money for charity. So far they have raised over £167,000 for Christie's Hospital in Manchester.
"On average we raise over £2,000 at each event," said one of the organisers, Gregory Paul. He is a former patient at Christie's and an employee of United Press. "We have enough singers but we are desperate for more volunteer collectors. For each collector who attends we can raise £50 to £100, so the work is both rewarding and enjoyable.”
