I live in the beautiful Rossendale Valley in East Lancashire, have been married to wife Anne for over 30 years and am the father of three grown up sons.

I am a Methodist Local Preacher, and as such commit a large part of my life to my Christian activities, which provides a lot of inspiration for my writing.

Right back to my school days I have always enjoyed reading poetry, and started my own attempts at writing during my teenage years. I find the whole process of writing very relaxing, often using my commute to and from work in Warrington as a time to formulate ideas.

Following the death of my young son in 1986 I wrote some of my most personal verses, which at the time acted as a cathartic experience, whilst also rekindling my interest in verse.

My poetry spans a wide range of subjects, with inspiration being taken from many sources, some of which can be most unexpected, surprising even me.
