Geraldus John - a writer, poet and freelance artist - was born in West Glamorgan, but early days were spent in Ceridigion, West Wales. He was educated in Cowbridge Grammar School and Glamorgan Technical College, where he studied chemical engineering.

Following a two year period on the family farm he was employed over the next thirty years as a Technical Service manager with a multinational oil company.

His engagement with fine art and writing followed early retirement in the mid-nineties, and since then he has published many poems and short stories in mixed author anthologies.

The influence of his industrial activity, farming, the Welsh language and the extensive travel to foreign lands is clearly seen in this collection.

"I am interested in the apparent affinity between fine art and poetry- the relationship between virtual images derived from words and real images derived from paint. Such images can sit comfortably together on the gallery wall."
