"When I was about twelve years old, I discovered an interest in Poetry. I had always loved books and reading, so to start playing around with words was a natural progression. Unfortunately, I was not encouraged in this and it was many years later that my interest was re-awakened.

I have had such fun in the last few years, having come across a lively group of Poetry and Open Mic-ers (is there such a word?), quite local to me and have become very involved with them. The Write Angle Poetry Group has encouraged me in my efforts and I have had half a dozen poems published by United Press. I find all this quite exciting, as I am a sixty three year old Mother and Grandmother and still work part-time.

The poems I write are inspired by family, friends and any little incident that takes my fancy! Humorous is preferable but sometimes a serious mood overtakes me! My grandchildren have always inspired me with their antics and often this takes the form of stories in rhyme.

Maybe I'll write a book one day! My advice to everyone is - if you find something you enjoy, then go ahead and do it!"
