Profile

I suddenly started writing poetry in 2005, at the ripe old age of 78,
some of which turned out to be quite comic and I soon discovered that I had a talent to make people laugh. In 2006 United Press published my first book Verse or Worse and the following year saw Even Worse Verse.
Having had several poems published in a national newspaper, I then branched out to writing more serious, meaningful work and self-published Reflections on my computer followed by more comic verses, Odds and Ends.

Every fortnight the village OAPs meet at the Good Companions group in our Village Hall and it has now become a ritual that I write and recite a new poem for them to start the meeting with a good laugh.

My thanks must go to the Fernhurst Internet Centre where I learned my computer skills without which none of my poems would have been written or published and to the patience and help of the tutors.

I hope that my poetic muse will not desert me but will continue to inspire me to fulfil my ambition of brightening people's lives.
