"I am married to Winston and we have two married sons and four grandchildren.

I am retired but still work part time as a bookkeeper.

I first started writing poetry a few years ago and this started really by chance.

It was Christmas time and I was getting into a flap about getting ready for the season, when the thought came to me that Christmas was not about the season but about the reason.

Our Saviour was born then and with this thought verses of a poem came to me and I couldn't get them written down quickly enough. My poetry writing started and just around this time United Press had an advertisement for a competition in my local press. My husband encouraged me to enter and that is how I started having poems published by United Press.

A lot of my poetry is inspired by my Christian faith, but I also like to write about everyday things. Sometimes I see humour in unexpected places. I like to people watch and listen to conversations and just a word, phrase or action starts an idea for a poem."
