"Hi, my name is John Wallbridge and I'm 49 years old, the big 50 later this year. I was born and raised in Southampton where I still live with my wife Jayne. Unfortunately no children just two nutty whippets, a two year old called Buddy and six month old Woody. Buddy is the one in the photo with me.

I have earned a living in various jobs including trainee sailmaker, roof tilers mate, labourer and hod carrier before finally ending up at Ford Motor Company on the production line of the Transit Van.

After many years at Ford I was medically retired in 2003 due to numerous health problems. I started writing poetry verse about three years later to give me something to do and relieve the boredom. I prefer to write verse that is light hearted, often with a touch of humour. I have been lucky enough to have had several poems published in anthologies and have self published two books of verse, Merry-Go-Round and Hold On Tight both of which are available from www.johnwallbridge.co.uk.
