Profile

"I was born 05.06.1952 in Wolverhampton and brought up in New Invention, Willenhall, in Staffordshire, now called West Midlands. I attended the local Beacon Primary School until 1963 when I transferred to Pool Hayes Comprehensive School, newly built as a progressive school of the 60’s.

I trained as a teacher at Wolverhampton Teacher’s Training College and began teaching at Pool Hayes Comprehensive School, later moving to Cheslyn Hay Middle School in a promoted job of Special needs Co ordinator.

In 1984 The Middle School became a Primary school and I procured a job as Science Coordinator and later became the Maths Co coordinator as well. I retired in 2008 from teaching and am now an exam invigilator for a local school. I am a member of the Walsall Association of Local Artists and I mainly paint in watercolour. I have displayed some of my art work on 2nd February 2011 at Wolverhampton Library for a month.

I have begun to learn to play my guitar and am learning to play it, though my singing is not good, I enjoy the challenge. I try to work out in the gym at least twice a week and I swim twice a week also. During my teaching career I met and married my husband and produced two daughters, now aged 26 and 21. Since my retirement I have joined a Bridge Club and though I find the game challenging, it is enjoyable. I enjoy writing rhyming poetry and look forward to seeing it in print."
