Profile

"My mother tucked me into bed; she opened the book and started reading. I lay there, just my small head sticking out the top of the covers. I listened, only young but engulfed in the story. I wanted to know how it ended, but my mother said it was time to go to sleep.

This is where my passion for writing came from. I loved the anticipation of finding out what happens to the characters and how the writer would end the story; I knew one day I could be the one creating the anticipation.

As the years passed I wrote hundreds of short stories and poems, it seems my love for writing never died. Some of my work was terrible, but a lot of it was really good and my parents encouraged me to enter competitions and send my work to publishers. I was about fifteen years old when I became a runner up in a short story competition, I got presented with a certificate and I was so proud. I knew I had to keep going if I wanted to be known and respected as a writer.

And now here I am."
