"I was born in Manchester and brought up in Ellesmere Port on the Wirral. I come from a working class background and have wonderful parents and the coolest of brother's. Although reasonably bright in my youth I was terribly lazy and decided that the Kings's School, Chester wasn't for me, and what I wanted was something more Comprehensive.

I attained the minimum number of qualifications to secure a place at Chester College which I duly left some six months later. During my time in education I began writing lyrics for a band that couldn't play any instruments. Literature was my favourite subject at school, and though I didn't have any ambitions in this area writing has always been a huge part of my life.

The poems you see were written between the years 1981 and 2010, and I'm told by my closest advisors that there's a hint of darkness about them! I hope that the reader can take something from these words and use them however he or she feels fit. You never know, these words may inspire others to offer their souls to creativity, of which there can never be enough.
