"I am married with three grown-up children and four grand-children. My husband and I live in Hyde, Cheshire. I worked in laboratory technology in my earlier years; more recently I was a church secretary, now retired.
I have felt inspired to express my thoughts in poetry ever since my teenage years, though my writing was infrequent. I also enjoyed sending comic verses to various poetry competitions, and have had the pleasure of hearing some on Radio broadcasts and, once I won - wait for it - a tin of coffee!!

I have been much encouraged in my poetry writing through having the challenge of entering competitions at United Press. I would like to thank you all at United Press for helping blossoming writers like me. My inspiration tends to be from events, surroundings and relationships that deeply affect me emotionally and spiritually. I am a ’Born Again’ Christian, I enjoy spending time with the grand-children, I love nature and the outdoors, and I love the feeling of creativity in poetry. I also really enjoy a humorous slant. I started writing more of these during a period in my life when I was unwell.
