Maureen Oakley

Like many poets across the country, Maureen Oakley donated copies of poetry books to her local library, but as Jenny Carter, the Customer Service Development Librarian for Sevenoaks district explained, they never reached their destination. “We had two van loads of books stolen. Maureen's donations of Whispers on the Breeze, Fact and Fantasy and A Sense of Place were among them. When we contacted United Press to tell them about this they very kindly replaced all the books that were in print and also donated a box of other poetry and short story books.”

Maureen, who has been writing for many years, lives in Westerham in Kent.
